Explicit Books Publishing wants stories for adult audiences with a taste for sexually explicit content. Content should be R to X rated, including adult sexual conduct, sexuality, erotica, and generally containing the explicit written description of sexual organs and/or activity, intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic feelings. Mild forms of erotic bondage and S&M are generally acceptable provided that they don’t creep, literally or figuratively, into violence. We're looking primarily for sexy people sexily having sex.

Under no circumstances nor at any time will Explicit Books publish any material that contains any of: Sexual assault (or violence preceding sexual encounters), forced sexual encounters, rape, impaired (drugged) sexual encounters, primary or secondary characters under 20 years of age and/or depicted in high-school or as unspecified age young persons (whether or not they are engaged in sexual activity), incest of any degree, bestiality, characters that lack capacity (mental or physical) to consent to depicted activities, or anything that we in our sole discretion deem to be offensive, degrading, or unduly exploitative. The goal is to titillate, not disturb.

Explicit Books publishes reprint anthologies, original anthologies, novellas in small collections, stand alone novellas, and full length (but generally short) novels. Compensation depends entirely on the content and format, including up front one time payments and mixed advance/royalty arrangements.

Explicit Books does not charge authors any fees, nor are authors required to incur any expenses on behalf of or for Explicit Books. We are not "pay to publish".
